I’m writing in on behalf of Learning Curve Life Skills Foundation, a not for profit organization based in Hyderabad, India, which is rooted in the belief that social-emotional learning is a core component of a child’s growth, and particularly in under resourced environments this can greatly enable equitable adulthood and eventually life outcomes.

Our work brings awareness, process, practice, communication and environment of SEL in unaided schools and government schools – largely done through a structured capacity building effort involving teachers, school administrators and parents. Since 2016, we’ve been able to bring SEL curriculum and practice to close to 200 schools, directly impacting over 1300 teachers and 42,000 children.

We’ve also worked closely with the AP Government on the design, capacity building and roll-out of the Happiness Curriculum (Ananda Vedika).

In our attempt to build salience around SEL, we are delighted to announce the 4th edition of our annual conference “Enabling Spaces” on Saturday 18th January 2020 in Hyderabad.

By way of this conference, our attempt is to being together a group of educators, administrators, policy makers, corporates and NGOs in the space to share insights and perspectives on the field of school transformation through innovative approaches such as social-emotional learning

This year, we are bringing together a set of eminent speakers from the domain – from a practice, research, and policy perspective on the following topics:

  • SEL as a game-changer in education (Keynote – Dr. Swaroop Rawal)
  • SEL – the missing component in holistic development (Mr. Satyanarayana, AP SCERT)
  • Can SEL be measured? (Dr. Sonia Sawhney, TISS Hyderabad)
  • Making SEL relevant to the education system (Panel)

For those of you who work in the field of education, and are either looking for ways to bring SEL to their practice, or learn about key trends in SEL practice, Enabling Spaces would be a great forum for you to attend.

To know more, please visit our conference website here, and e-mail us through the web site telling us why you’d like to attend. Once we hear from you, a personal invite will follow.

The conference is by invite only, and there is no conference fee – however, since we have limited seats, we will need confirmation once we send the invitation out to you.
