On every month's 4th Saturday, we at Youth Alliance create a space that stretches our awareness muscle and explore many dimensions and forms of change. We call these spaces Action Learning Saturdays and the idea is to put our head, heart, and hand in action and learn through it :). Sharing with you all that we're doing this Saturday and if this excites anyone of you, please join in. More details and Sign up form in the email below.

The internet is a space to create, express, connect and collaborate. It enables us to share our story through multiple platforms in multiple ways, which go beyond a single language or a medium.

But what started with the idea of consent is now moving towards the collection of user's behavioral data without their knowledge. In such a situation, how can we be more aware of the ways in which we engage with such platforms? What are the alternatives on the Web?

At this Action Learning Saturday, Workshop on Digital Privacy is designed to discuss as well as a question such as structures and look at the answers collectively.

The workshop will be conducted by Akshay, the Coder-Founder of Wildfire who has been building web-based tools for the past 12 years.
Know the Facilitator :
Akshay is a web developer, with experience in writing code for Linux based systems. He has spent the last several years building an email dissemination tool (https://birdsong.click), that is further taking shape into an entire ecosystem of various web tools for archiving, dissemination and analysis, called Wildfire. The process of making these tools ground-up developed his understanding of the architecture of the internet and how information flows across the web.

During this time, he was also making different kinds of online systems for organizations like Citizens for Justice and Peace, National School of Drama, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, LeftWord Books, Tulika Books. This engagement helped him develop an understanding of politics, art, and activism.
