The emerging trends in CSR have gradually shifted the focus from philanthropic giveaways to a more strategic and integrated business strategy focussed on providing economic returns to the organization while creating positive social or environmental impact. There is a pressing need for new-age businesses to adopt the ‘Strategic CSR’ route towards creating a sustainable impact, but a lot remains to be fathomed in terms of how practicing managers can adapt and make the best use of this novel concept.
