Events: Maharashtra Startup Week 2020- Apply by- 16th Feb

The 3^rd Edition of the Maharashtra Startup Week is back. 

With the Startup Week, we continue our quest to open up the government as a beneficiary/customer to startups. Startups can avail other benefits like networking events with VCs, industry, mentoring from government officials and international linkages too.

Last time around we had more than 1500 applicants from across India apply for this program, out of which Top 100 were invited to pitch to sector specific panels. 

24 winners are awarded Government Work Orders worth Rs. 15 lakhs each. Winners also receive handholding support for their pilot implementation with multiple departments. The 48 winners of previous two editions and their pilots are profiled here.

The applications are open for the 3^rd Edition of Startup Week. Request you to forward the following outreach emailer in your network of startups. Startups from across India are eligible to apply.

Greetings from Maharashtra State Innovation Society!

Maharashtra State Innovation Society, after 2 successful editions, is back with the 3rd edition of Maharashtra Startup Week to engage, encourage and enable the startup ecosystem. Winners of the first two editions of Maharashtra Startup Week are now working closely with government agencies like National Health Mission, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dept, various Municipal Corporations, MSEDCL, Rural Development Department, etc.

What is Maharashtra Startup Week 2020?

Maharashtra Startup Week is Government of Maharashtra’s annual flagship event aimed at procuring and deploying innovative solutions developed by startups on a pilot basis. Between 14th January to 16th February 2020, startups across India from sectors such as education, skilling, healthcare, agriculture, sustainability (clean energy, water, waste management, etc), smart infrastructure and mobility, governance and miscellaneous are invited to submit their applications.

Top 100 startups will have the opportunity to showcase their products / services to an esteemed panel of Government officials, investors, incubators, and experts from industry and academia. The winning 24 startups shall receive Government work orders of up to Rs.15 lakhs each to pilot their solution with respective government agencies.

Why should your startup participate?

Maharashtra Startup Week is a first-of-its-kind platform to engage bilaterally with Government, thus opening up the B2G market for startups and innovators. For up to 12 months, Maharashtra State Innovation Society shall extend their support to the 24 winning startups by way of access to personnel, data, mentors and any other means necessary.

Upon successfully completing a pilot and/or demonstrating proof of concept, the Government of Maharashtra may choose to scale the startup’s solutions across Maharashtra as well as support expansion into national and international markets. Select startups who may not have a B2G target segment can avail other benefits like networking with VCs and opportunities for international linkages via Maharashtra State Innovation Society, which has partnered with leading investors, incubators and industry stakeholders for the Maharashtra Startup Week 2020.
