Role: Consultant – Statistics
Location: Bhubaneshwar, Odisha
Term: 3 months, full-time
Start date: Immediate
Background information
Oxford Policy Management is currently preparing for an assignment to support the
Government of Odisha to: (i) facilitate integration and use of government data to generate
statistics; (ii) improve the quality of key socio-economic statistics; and (iii) enhance
capabilities in government to use statistics in public policy. We are looking to recruit a short-
term consultant (full-time) for the duration of the assignment to support the delivery of various analytical pillars. The consultant will be joining four other project team members.
Scope of work
• Analyze the existing data policies in the state
• Develop data documentation for specific management information systems
• Undertake key informant interviews
• Liaise with the government counterparts to collect and understand datasets
• Assist in the drafting of key deliverables
• Attend review meetings and consultation workshops
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in statistics (highly preferred) or any other quantitative discipline
• 3-5 years of public policy experience, particularly working on quantitative
datasets, administrative data systems and national or subnational statistical
systems
• Strong technical skills in quantitative analysis and relevant statistical software
• Knowledge of spoken and written Odiya a must
