Job: Waiting for MKG 2.0 - Looking for a passionate, high energy entrepreneur/community leader

I am writing to you seeking help: We are looking to back an idea that can be a potential gamechanger in the volunteering and civic engagement space in India. The idea is to create a "hyperlocal model of volunteering" in order to engage EVERY citizen in volunteering in a certain pin-code.

In our conversations with organizations in the volunteering ecosystem, over the past few months, we have felt an increasing need to design and solve for volunteering opportunities in a localized manner that will also allow for scale. 

Currently, people seek one or more of the following criteria to be met in order to volunteer their time and skills:

• Time: The opportunity should be available when I (volunteer) am available
• Skills: Should be a match between what I am willing to offer and what they are seeking
• Cause: The greater the alignment between causes you feel strongly about with the cause the organization is supporting, the stronger your commitment to it.
• Location: Should be easily/conveniently accessible.

We believe that if the location can be kept constant, and focus energies on all the other variables, we might be able to significantly increase the extent of volunteering. The pin-code approach makes outreach easier and volunteering sustainable as people can take long-term ownership of the projects easily. The approach can be replicated easily across geographies.

The project will happen over three stages:

Stage	Duration	Activity
Creating and identifying volunteering opportunities	2-3 months	This will involve meeting diverse organizations and groups to create 1,000+ unique social as well as civic volunteering opportunities for 200,000+ citizens. All of these will be hosted & owned by the respective orgs.
Marketing and outreach	2-6 months	Reaching all the citizens of Vile Parle East, through mediums such as social media, handbills, local groups/forums/communities, RWAs, awareness drives, meetups, etc.
Matching and implementation	Parallel to Marketing and outreach	Volunteers matched to the opportunities and engaged on a regular basis to ensure that they have a good experience and a “journey” where they can evolve to take on more roles of responsibility..

We are trying to do a small pilot on this in Vile Parle East, Mumbai over the next 6-9 months. Project Mumbai, led by Shishir Joshi (ex CEO, Mumbai First), has offered to be the lead implementation partner for this. We have also identified 150+ organizations in Vile Parle E that are eager to be part of this. Here is more information specifically on the pilot if you need more context.

To be able to drive this we are looking for EITHER-

(a) A senior team member to join Project Mumbai full-time on this. This will be a remunerated position.
OR
(b) An entrepreneurial organization that will partner Project Mumbai on this. 

IWT will support this person or organization through knowledge resources as well as money if required.

We are looking for:

• Someone deeply vested in volunteering/ civic engagement
• Available 24x7 for meetings, calls and willing to work at least 60 hours a week for the next year
• Should stay not too far from Vile Parle East, or willing to relocate for a year
• Has at least 5 years' prior work experience

AND EITHER

• Entrepreneurial: must have started some organization, club or non-digital network earlier in life, willing to own and drive an initiative completely, take risks, open to putting one's name to the initiative and succeeding or failing publicly. 

OR

• Managerial: strong ability to motivate & lead times, project manage and get things done. Happy to be inspired by another's vision, but need the comfort of a job.
