The District Development Fellowship (DDF) is calling for applications for the 2020-21 Cohort. This is an excellent opportunity to understand government functioning and drive policy changes in Punjab!

District Development Fellowship: An Overview
DDF is a strategic collaboration between the Government of Punjab and Ashoka University to engage young professionals in supporting the Department of Governance Reforms and Public Grievances. The fellows will get an opportunity to work in one of the assigned districts for a year, while also receiving mentorship and professional development from the government officers and the program team at DDF.
Roles and responsibilities of a District Development Fellow will include
- Monitoring and supporting the key initiatives of the Department of Governance Reforms and Public Grievances, Government of Punjab
- Improving transparency, efficiency, and service delivery across different schemes and departments
- Facilitating coordination and dialogue between various stakeholders of the district for inter-sectoral convergence
- Streamlining the district-level implementation of process re-engineering initiatives originating at the state level
- Supporting Deputy Commissioners in research, adaptation, and implementation of successful administrative practices at the district level.
- Prepare and share regular progress updates (monthly and weekly) with the Department of Governance Reforms and the Programme Team.
Please note that the Fellows will not take up any type of employment or educational opportunity with any other person, firm or any other agency during the tenure of the program.
Duration and Location
The duration of the programme is one year during which all the associates will be posted in one of the 22 districts of Punjab. The Fellows will be working at the district headquarters of their assigned districts, and travel to various locations within the district or at the state headquarters (Chandigarh) as and when required.
Remuneration
Associates will receive a stipend of Rs. 8, 00, 000 per annum, inclusive of any programme related expenses such as telephone, internet, printing, stationery, etc. Applicable taxes will be deducted at source from this amount.

The selection process after the review of applications will be carried out in multiple rounds.
The applications are already LIVE for candidates to apply. Shortlisted candidates will hear from us mid-June for subsequent rounds and interviews.
