As part of the World Bank Group-CES Global Tech Challenge, the World Bank Group and India’s National Disaster Management Authority are calling on the tech community in India and around the world to address some of India’s most pressing disaster and climate resilience challenges, currently compounded by Covid-19. Apply to the TechEmerge Resilience India Challenge where the top tech solutions from around the globe will be matched with Disaster Management Authorities in India to deploy solutions to help the government and local communities better prepare, respond and build resilience to disasters and climate change amidst COVID-19.
Communities in India, especially the most vulnerable including migrants, have to manage the dual shocks of COVID-19 alongside the recent cyclones and upcoming monsoon season. COVID-19 is putting the existing disaster management resources under severe pressure. To deal with the immediate disaster response during the pandemic, and to build longer term disaster and climate resilience, we are inviting applications for solutions using emerging or disruptive technologies such as AI, IoT, Drones, 3D printing, digital platforms and beyond.
The Challenge has 2 tracks – a COVID-19 Fast track (deadline June 19, 2020) and a Resilience Track (deadline July 20, 2020).
