Natural Dyeing Cluster in Bajju at Rajasthan
Urmul Trust with support from Ministry of SME has undertaken development of a natural dyeing artisans cluster in Bikaner district of Rajasthan. Working with 600 artisans of the cluster, the project would envisage undertaking strategy, training, business development & bureaucratic & project.
We are currently inviting application for the role of Cluster Development Executive to steer the project in the Bikaner district.
Role of Cluster Development Executive, URMUL
Mission:
Conceptualises the overall development strategy for a cluster and initiates its implementation. Acts as a liasioning officer between various cluster players/actors and the technical agency. Also, acts as a changemaker to help in developing the targeted cluster and take quality decisions with critical data-driven insights for the cluster, design-oriented skills, tailored tools, logical reasoning and a problem-solving approach.

1. Effortlessly connects with the community and is able to identify the important needs of the community
and the means to achieve them 2. Should be familiar with the target cluster (local candidate) 3. Has knowledge and skill of designing, tailoring and weaving 4. Has a strong learning orientation, intellectual curiosity, interest in social enterprises and passion for
traditional art and craft 5. Is self-driven and self-motivated 6. Can forge collaborations among different stakeholders. 7. Possesses strong ethical values, professional accountability, and is adaptable to a changing
environment 8. Willing to travel extensively, to the remote cluster locations 9. Has the ability to or interest in conducting cluster meetings, business reviews and work review 10. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office(Powerpoint, Word, Excel) applications 11. Excellent English writing, communication, drafting reports and social media skills
Job description: Cluster Development Executive, Urmul
Role: 1. Undertaking or coordinating the diagnostic study of the cluster and identify relevant cluster-specific
issues with a suitable methodology 2. Initiate the process of trust-building with cluster stakeholders 3. Prioritizing the issues on the basis of their criticality to the cluster stakeholders, the Workforce, the
community around the cluster and the society 4. Cluster & ecosystem mapping followed by the selection of promising artisans 5. Ensuring timely and quality execution of the hard and soft interventions 6. Engaging all the stakeholders as scheduled in the ecosystem map 7. Proactively approaching strategic alliances and other institutional partnerships with like mandated
Organisations 8. Facilitating the team in connecting with market players and leveraging the contacts in the fashion and
crafts industry to mobilise advisory and resource support 9. Develop DPR for the infrastructure development and procurement proposed under HI and ensure
quality procurement 10. Detailed planning and ensuring timely production inception at the production and training centre 11. Mobilising other institutional – bilateral, NABARD, corporate and private sector funds and Support to
enhance the programme 12. Proper and timely reporting to all the stakeholders 13. Formation of SPV (Specific project) and establishing the SOPs for able and transparent governance.
Facilitating smooth governance of the SPV 14. Ensuring and acquiring all the required permissions and clearances for land development, 15. water, electricity from the concerned line departments 16. Preparation of the ‘End of Project Report’ (EPR)/ DPR
Direct Functions:
1. To engage with the targeted cluster so as to formulate a proper strategy to develop it (60%time) 2. To engage and consult from the technical agency. (20% time) 3. Drafting reports of the progress made and DPR of the whole project (20% time)
Compensation: 3.8 lakh pa.
Duty Station: Urmul Campus, Bajju village, Bikaner district
