A. NIM Position

Since its inception in 2010, iKure has been constantly breaking new paths and charting into new territories to bring primary and preventive health and nutrition services to people. iKure is now poised to scale its healthcare services both in breadth and depth through its people, tools, technologies, and partners. The New Initiatives Manager (NIM) is the key role to anchor this transition from a pre-growth to the growth stage for iKure.
The position is embedded in the iKure Tech Team based in Bengaluru Development Center. However, NIM collaborates with the Operations Team that manages 9 Hub Clinics in 3 states in India and other healthcare delivery projects for various partners and the Research and Analysis Team that works with partners on research and evaluation projects.
B. Impact Areas
NIM will have 3 impact areas: a) Product marketing, b) Business development, and c) Delivery Management.

1.       Product marketing (30%)

a)     NIM will give adequate time and focus to study to understand users and families, providers (such as doctors and nurses), health facilities. This effort can be reading books, research journals, articles, and talking to experts. NIM will listen to the teams, people, and partners. Armed with these data points and information, NIM will create knowledge synthesis that can be used by the Teams across the organization to develop insights and understanding of our communities and ecosystem both in India and globally.
b)    The Technology team works in several product streams – mobile, web, big data and AI/ML, data visualization, API management, and product innovations. For the Technology Team, NIM is the bouncing board for their new ideas and features before the Team starts planning on them.
The inputs to the team by NIM is usually backed by rigorous piece of market research, evidence of current and potential interests from the market with names of specific individuals and organizations as potential early users, specifications document (following the acceptable standards for Software Specifications Document), and designs like wireframes.
c)     NIM is the focal point to design and develop a marketing strategy for the Technology product portfolio. NIM will talk to different stakeholders for a product – in open source, developer community, virtual marketplaces, public sector, startups, multinational and domestic enterprises, among others to develop the strategy. Along with Business Development Team, NIM will test and refine the strategy to develop the iKure marketing playbook.
d)    As part of the marketing efforts, NIM will create compelling documentation for the product for various audiences – developer community, IT manager, CXOs, and others – using multiple channels including GitHub Pages, YouTube, Jira Confluence, or other tools.

2.       Business Development (40%)

a)     Over the years, iKure has developed partnerships with many communities in India. Beyond India, iKure has also developed linkages in South-East Asia, Eastern African regions. NIM takes the drive to understand those linkages and partnerships to empower them with iKure products. NIM identifies potential new partners who can benefit from iKure’s products and services.
b)    NIM takes the ownership to onboard the partner right from the initial round of discussion. To do so, NIM would work with the teams across the organizations. These partnerships are development with central and state government agencies, CSR initiatives, international foundations and donors, academic and research entities, venture capitals, among others.
c)     NIM will create and use customized pitch documents including emails, presentations, videos, and proposals that provide effective information, data visualization, and compelling narratives.

3.       Delivery Management (30%)

a)     Though individual projects are managed by the Project Managers on the implementation side and Account Managers on the technology side, there will be often a transition period of 2 to 4 months when NIM needs to provide handholding support both to the new partner and the Project Manager.
b)    NIM ensures an effective program planning developed in consultation with the partner. It will require to document the specific requirements of the partner to discuss with technology and other teams to plan and execute.
C. Your Profile
To be an effective NIM, we believe you would possess a mix of knowledge, behavior, experience, and skillsets:
I)      You are a mission-driven person with a passion to bring positive changes in the lives of people around us. You are a dreamer, yet you have your feet on the ground. You see the future and believe in taking actions every day to realize that future.
II)    You have worked with software development team in your early career and spent a few years as a developer. You know well the intricacies of modern software development project and have used tools like Jira and Git in software development.
III)   Along your way, you have picked up some skills and practices to write well and create compelling documents and presentations. You have created a few winning proposals in the past and made a good impression in a few key meetings with diverse set of audiences.
IV)   You have done a bit of software or product documentation using modern tools such as GitHub Pages, Jira Confluence, or others. An experience of wiring an SRS is a plus.
V)    You have spent a few years (4 to 6 years) in business development. This experience has given you a good grasp on the essence of marketing for products like SaaS. In these years, you have interacted with some key people in public, private, and social impact sectors. You have tasted some successes and some failures in your business development efforts.
VI)   Lastly, you have some experiences in managing a software project delivery for a moderate to large size project.
D. Key Requirements
a)     Having 6 to 8 years of relevant experiences in all 3 impact areas mentioned above
b)    Having relevant education and training in technology and marketing domains
c)     Skills to prepare proposals for RFPs and presentations for the prospective clients interpedently  
 E. Submission
