About us
At Alohomora, we have made it our mission to enable youth to reach careers which are aligned with their interests and strengths. We do this through our tech-enabled program that builds self-belief, exposure, self-awareness and foundational skills in students so they can make informed career choices and thrive in them. We aim to meaningfully impact 1 million youth by 2025.
Currently we work with 1000 students across 19 Delhi and Gurgaon Government schools. We are also working closely with the Delhi Government to support the design and execution of Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum.
Our idea was recognized by World Bank Youth Summit 2016 as top 6 ideas globally for Rethinking Education. We have also been part of incubation programs like N/Core Tech, TFIx, Unltd India and are poised to scale rapidly.
About the role
You will be spearheading the design of our communications strategy as we take on the challenge to shift the narrative around how youth learn and make choices for their careers. We will be launching digital media campaigns for a variety of audiences = Youth themselves, education sector leaders and industry professionals.
Broad areas of responsibilities:
1) Designing and managing Alohomora’s Communication strategy
a) Articulate and execute the communication strategy for our CareerShala
program for different stakeholders. b) Coordinate with the program team to set-up a steady flow of compelling case
stories from the field across stakeholders. In some cases, connect with students and their families to capture in-depth stories that showcase impact and change in lives.
c) Write, edit and craft case stories tailored to different audiences and platforms
– i.e. funder reports, social media posts, partner events, website content and other collaterals like program brochures, presentations etc. d) Coordinate with web developer to update design & content of Alohomora’s
website
2) Donor and other stakeholder communications
a) Manage donor communication and ensure regular reporting as per needs b) Write monthly newsletters to all supporters c) Invite and manage visit of supporters to Alohomora’s events d) Manage the writing, design and publishing of Alohomora’s annual report e) Support development of collaterals for grant proposals, fundraising including
pitch decks, one-pagers, concept notes etc
3) Knowledge Management
a) Maintaining a systematic repository of videos and other digital content for dissemination to various stakeholders and 1 million students over next few years.
Who are we looking for:
Must-haves
1) 1-3 years of relevant work experience in the field of communications. 2) Strong drive for working in the education sector and empowering youth to be leaders 3) Excellent writing skills and flair for persuasive communication and storytelling 4) Ability to modify and manage differentiated communication for various audiences 5) High level of initiative and independence to learn quickly 6) Comfort with coordinating with various team members and external stakeholders
Good to have
1) Sense of design and aesthetics for designing reports/ pitch decks etc 2) Comfort with visual communication tools
Compensation: Upto Rs.40,000 per month based on experience for next 8 months with opportunity for extension.
