Job: BAIF Development Research Foundation hiring for Program Director (Climate change) last date 5th April

BAIF is a professionally managed not-for-profit organization committed to socio-economic development of the rural poor across 13 States in India.  We are looking for a Programme Director to steer our climate change adaptation and mitigation programme

Programme Director – Climate Change: minimum 15 years’ national/international experience in leading climate change and development programmes  in an established and reputed agency as evident from suitable papers and reports. 

He/she should have a clear understanding of Indian agriculture and natural resource systems. as well as o f global and national policies on climate change and how they fit into the country's development agenda, obligations and constraints.

Candidates who have recently superannuated from any reputed organisation and having relevant experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Leader of the Climate- Change Programme for Sustainable Rural Development, the Programme Director is expected to  evolve and implement programs with particular emphasis on climate-smart, sustainable and resource conservation-focused activities and strategies .

• Climate-smart interventions in livestock, crop and natural resource management programmes.
• Develop and lead current climate change programme and its field implementation.    
• Forge collaborations and partnerships with external stakeholders and national & international agencies to source knowledge and project sponsorship. 
• Come up with new strategies and ideas of intervention on climate change issues
• Drive ideas, development and organization of events, program, and activities on a full range of subject areas and priorities.
• Develop and execute the outreach strategy 
• Prepare and implement an applied research agenda for climate studies. 
• Lead, guide and groom the concerned core thematic team.  

Salary will be commensurate with experience and ability.
