Samaj Pragati Sahayog (SPS) is one of India's largest non-government initiatives for water and food security, working with its partners over half a million acres mainly in central tribal India. SPS is headquartered in a drought-prone, tribal area of Madhya Pradesh. We concentrate all our direct interventions in about 400 villages and towns of this area. This work is not so much a model as a living laboratory of learning for others to adapt to their own areas. To facilitate this mutual learning, we set up the Baba Amte Centre for People’s Empowerment in 1998 in tribal village Neemkheda, where regular training programmes on various themes take place. We are inviting applications for the following positions.

We are looking for Watershed Professionals with a minimum of Two years of experience for our watershed development programme. The chosen person will handle interventions that focus on participatory watershed management, NRM, PIM, use efficiency & planning of water resources in collaboration with line departments of the Government. They should develop active interaction with village communities, people’s institutions and Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRI) in order to motivate them to become partners in the development activities of our organisation. An ideal professional will be amicable, hard-working & adaptable to field conditions, think creatively while solving technical problems and be able to handle a team of professionals with diverse skills & qualifications. A Civil Engineering degree/diploma is desirable. M.Sc in Geology & Hydro-geology, B.Tech/M.Tech in Agriculture Engineering & Graduates of Soil & Water Conservation are also welcome to apply.
