ABOUT START UP!
Start Up! is an incubator, impact accelerator, and leadership springboard to social entrepreneurs. Based in New Delhi, India, we launch, strengthen,and scale social ventures that create lasting impact in underserved communities.

WHAT WE DO
As an incubator, we work with early-stage social entrepreneurs to launch ventures that create deep impact.  We also incubate incubators!

As an impact accelerator, we facilitate growth-stage entrepreneurs to scale their models and drive large-scale systemic change.

As a leadership springboard,we train and coach unique leaders for the sector whose potential is yet unrecognized and untapped.

Previous Start Up! Fellows have engaged in partner projects such as:
  • Developing business plans and financial models for health, education and entrepreneurship ventures in last-mile and conflict prone areas
  • Creating go-to-market plans for small tea growers of Assam and apple farmers of Uttarakhand
  • Conducting a landscape assessment of a community-led rural health organization across Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Assam
  • Supporting an impact assessment for a migrant laborer wealth management model in Rajasthan
  • Managing India-wide outreach and mobilization for a unique leadership and recognition program for grassroots women changemakers

  • A professional women’s chauffeur and cab company – powered by women from urban poor communities
  • An India-wide skilling and employment venture for persons with disabilities
  • A sport for development program with a focus on gender and sexuality for adolescent girls from disadvantaged communities
  • Village-level tea producing companies, led by small and marginal tea growers

START UP! 2020 FELLOWS
Start Up! is looking for entrepreneurial Fellows to engage with leading social entrepreneurs across India. Ideal candidates should be keen to experience social change in action and eager to develop strategic and growth solutions for both Start Up! and its social entrepreneur partners. Fellows will engage with both internal and partner projects that may be of their interests and/or skill areas. 



Role: Fellow
Reporting to: Program Manager
Location: New Delhi, India
Duration: 4-6 months
Work arrangement: Full-time 
Remuneration: Cumulative monthly stipend of upto INR 25,000-30,000




  • Support the programs for incubating and accelerating social change models of Start Up! partners
  • Research and develop in-house incubation and acceleration toolkits for Start Up! 
  • Create knowledge products and tools to aid the sustainability and fundraising efforts of Start Up’s partner social entrepreneurs
  • Document models of leading social entrepreneurs across India
  • Develop sector maps to build intelligence on key trends, challenges, and players in the ecosystem
  • Build communication and social media strategies for Start Up! as well as its partners




  • Willingness and enthusiasm to learn and engage with social change models, both for-profit and not-for-profit
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and handle deadlines across two or more projects
  • Excellent skills in MS Office/equivalent applications, especially MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of additional Indian languages will be a plus
  • Willingness to travel to rural India



  • Students aligned to the fields of Economics, Public Policy, Business Management, Design & Communication, Liberal Arts or Journalism who are currently pursuing Post Graduation are preferred
  • Prior experience with a social enterprise will be an advantage
  • Students with 2-3 years of work experience will be a plus
