We are looking for a Legal Liaison Officer who will be responsible for providing legal advice to the management and handling legal matters, support in case management, case analysis, build linkages with the state level and district level Legal Service Authorities the Juvenile Justice Committee of the High Court, the Judicial Academy etc. They may need to represent CIF and Childline Partner staff and orient and support the Public Prosecutor, CHILDLINE staff, the child or the family with legal assistance and advice. They will need to lead state teams for independent inquiries in case of complaints on CHILDLINE staff and submit reports on the fact finding.
The specific responsibilities of Legal Liaison Officer include
- Drafting legal documents, Prepare responses to legal notices, RTIs received.
- Structuring solutions for issues, and providing support in legal issues
- Analyze the trends in case progression and bring out the good practices and gaps
- Support provided to all concerned in critical cases
- To conduct initial litigation case assessment and investigation in case of complaints against staff
- Draft written statements, rejoinders, applications, coordination with advocates, etc.
- Train and orient Childline staff in representing the children ( incase of complainant or witness) in court
- Build linkages with the state level and district level Legal Service Authorities the Juvenile Justice Committee of the High Court, the Judicial Academy etc
The ideal candidate should have
Experience
- Minimum 3 Years of Court Experience
- Experience of representing for child protection.
Desirable
- Experience of working in any national or international NGOs, Charity Organisations and Human rights organisations.
- Experience in working in NGOs working for the protection of Children.
- Experience or working and representing in any High Court in India.
- Successful track history of practice in sessions courts.
Education & Qualifications
- Post Graduation in Law: LLB, LLM
- Post holders are required to have license to practice in Courts ( BAR License )
Desirable
- Diploma/Certifications in Child Rights Law.
