About Fair Trade Forum- India (FTF-I) Fair Trade Forum- India is the national network of fair trade in India. It is a not-for-profit organization, registered under the society registration act 1860.
FTF-I contributes to poverty alleviation and sustainable development by building a broader, multi-stakeholder movement for Fair Trade, one that encompasses producers, workers, consumers, people for a range of backgrounds, Institutions, Organizations, Government and the Fair Trade community.
It promotes environment friendly practices, processes and products, at both the production and consumption levels and works actively to improve market conditions, build capacity, Fair Trade assessment and development of supply chains. Promotion of Fair Trade in India includes particular emphasis on young consumers and the corporate sector.
FTF-I works with more than 500,000 producers – artisans and farmers – through more than 100 member organizations, to ensure a dignified income and overall development of artisans, farmers, workers in the unorganized sector. It also endeavors to develop the skills of marginalized youth to make them more employable so that they become capable of earning a decent livelihood.
It is a member of the World Fair Trade Organization – WFTO, which is the global face of Fair Trade.
Key responsibility of Marketing Officer-
The individual will responsible for developing and executing a 360-degree marketing support to develop and accelerate Fair Trade Forum India’s endeavors through member organizations, CSOs and producers’ organizations of artisans and farmers. S/he will be responsible for tapping and facilitating marketing opportunities (local, national and international) for the member organizations/ SCOs/ POs as well as build brand, credibility, awareness and associations in the market for the FTFI and its member organizations. This role would require an individual to work collaboratively across all marketing sub-functions viz. exhibitions, shops, fairs and production groups at the grassroots. • S/he will lead preparing the marketing strategies at the FTFI and successfully implement it • S/he will be expected to develop an intensive fair-trade movement at regional, national and international level and raise the awareness among the different stakeholders about sustainable produces and enterprises. • Conducting business gap analysis, developing value chains viz. backward and forward linkages, especially in agriculture and handicraft sector. • Tapping up business opportunities for the craft and farmers produces and developing B2B and B2C value chains. • Helping in building capacity of the members of the FTFI member/ CSOs on digital designing and marketing, product development, branding and marketing. • Collaborate with relevant market stakeholders, FTFI members, producer organizations to develop a national level ethical fair-trade brand to significantly improve the socio-economic condition of the artisans and farmers.
Required qualification and experience- • Marketing graduate from a premier institute. • 1-2 years of relevant work experience specially working for promotion of craft and agri produce. • Excellent communication and presentation skills. • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with a strong desire to learn new skills – Ability to work independently and drive marketing strategy for external and internal clients.
Compensation- Salary range in this position is commensurate to industry standards and will be determined based upon the experiences and fixed as per the HR policies of the organization.
