About Fair Trade Forum- India (FTF-I) Fair Trade Forum- India is the national network of fair trade in India. It is a not-for-profit organization, registered under the society registration act 1860.
FTF-I contributes to poverty alleviation and sustainable development by building a broader, multi-stakeholder movement for Fair Trade, one that encompasses producers, workers, consumers, people for a range of backgrounds, Institutions, Organizations, Government and the Fair Trade community.
It promotes environment friendly practices, processes and products, at both the production and consumption levels and works actively to improve market conditions, build capacity, Fair Trade assessment and development of supply chains. Promotion of Fair Trade in India includes particular emphasis on young consumers and the corporate sector.
FTF-I works with more than 500,000 producers – artisans and farmers – through more than 100 member organizations, to ensure a dignified income and overall development of artisans, farmers, workers in the unorganized sector. It also endeavors to develop the skills of marginalized youth to make them more employable so that they become capable of earning a decent livelihood.
It is a member of the World Fair Trade Organization – WFTO, which is the global face of Fair Trade.
About project-STREE
STREE is an European Union (EU) supported pan India project being implemented by Fair Trade Forum-India. The major objectives of the project are to enhancing CSOs contribution to governance and development processes and promote sustainable livelihoods for the 10,000 women artisans by applying integrated developmental approaches.
Target groups- 10,000 women and young girls from disadvantaged communities (tribal communities, indigenous groups, religious minorities, PWD-Persons with Disabilities, IDPs-Internally Displaced Persons and HIV patients) through 100 CSOs.
Geographical coverage- 1-North region- (Delhi, Haryana, UP, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh), 2-West region- (Rajasthan and Gujarat), 3-East region- (West Bengal and North East and Odisha) 4-South region-(Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala).
Key responsibilities of regional Coordinator (s)
• Each coordinator will coordinate all the activates in her/ his region. • She/he will help in identifying potential CSOs and handicraft clusters associated with them in region. • She/ he will provide logistic and other required support to technical agency in conducting baseline, market surveys in coordination with CSOs. • She/he will ensure accurate data/information flow to the line manager. • She/he will be responsible for end to end management and coordination of all the activities of project in her/his region. • She/he will collate all the statistical and qualitative data/ information, prepare progress reports and submit it line manager and will meet the deadlines. • She/he will organize and manage trainings/ workshops in their region. • She/ he will provide required ground information for development of training manuals/ tool kits and support in conducting trainings and ToTs for CSOs. • Will help CSOs in promoting artisan’s producers companies, social enterprise and profit making self sustainable institutions in project operation area. • Ensure systems and processes are followed for various business processes such as procurement, imparting qualitative and impactful trainings, data/information management, and operating procedures. • Build systems and procedures to meet market requirements. • Will help CSOs in ensuring sustainability of operations of FPOs. • She/he will liaison and coordinate with different stakeholders viz. market players, government department, academic institutions, volunteers to implement the project in effective ways and maximize the impact of the program in her/ his region. • She/ will have close watch on National and International opportunities and platforms in which artisans from her/ his area can participate and benefit under the guidance of line manager. • She/he will link women artisans/ PCs/SEs/CSOs to digital marketing platforms (e-commerce) and will run consumer centric marketing campaigns and facilitate an ICT enable Supply chain management for the products. • At region level, she/ he will ensure that all the rules, regulations and ethos of project , EU and FTFI are followed. • At the regional level, regional coordinator will be point person for the FTFI and will support FTFI in whatever ways required. Suitable candidate- • Master in Social Work/ Rural Management/Business Management/ Designing. Candidates have worked in the field of craft will be given preference. • Knows incubation and promotion of social enterprises, for profit sustainable businesses and building institutions. • Minimum 2 years of works experience on livelihood development in reputed development organizations. • Should have strong orientations of developmental challenges and dynamics. • Should have experience of working with coalitions of CSOs and forge partnerships and collaborations among different stakeholders. • Multi-tasking, self motivated, great team player. Should have strong ethical and professional values. • Experienced in preparing qualitative reports. • Knows operating MS office, excel and power point well.
Location- One coordinator will be placed at each region.
Candidates can be deployed and relocated to any of the regions. In subject line preferred region can be mentioned.
Compensation- Salary range in this position is commensurate to industry standards and will be determined based upon the experiences and fixed as per the HR policies of the organization.
